    This course will provide participants with the necessary knowledge to demonstrate the principles related to pressure vessels and their associated equipment.

    This course has been designed to provide participants with an understanding of the information required in the construction, operation, and maintenance of pressure vessels.  The inspection and regulations will be different depending on application and regional requirements.  The technicians must be aware of these.  Having this awareness will allow the technicians to be more dependable and productive. 
    Day 1

    Identification

    • Identification and nomenclature
    • Registration and compliance
    • Regulations and codes

    The first day of this course will provide participants with the necessary understanding of the regulations, codes, registrations, and compliences for the safe and efficient operation of pressure vessels and their equipment.  The identification and nomenclature of pressure vessels will also be covered.  The attendees will participate in classroom assignments through both group participation, as well as individual research assignments to learn pressure vessel nomenclature and regulations.

    Day 2

    Inspections and Testing

    • Hydrostatic testing
    • Non-Destructive testing (external and internal)

    On day two, the participants will learn proper procedures to safely assess the condition and operation of pressure vessels used in the systems discussed.  Several testing types will be covered on this day, to include hydrostatic testing and non-destructive testing.

    This course is mainly targeted to mechanical technicians working in the field, as an introduction or refresher. The course can also be applicable to employees working with equipment purchasing, procurement, storage, and job planning, as well as immediate supervisors to the working technicians.

    Anyone taking this course should have completed awareness training in a mechanical or technical environment.
