Seawater Lift and Circulation System
The seawater lift and circulation system supplies filtered seawater to process and drilling users. This system serves as a heat sink for the platforms cooling requirements.
In this course, participants will be exposed to typical sea water lift systems through the use of Process and Instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) drawings and an explanation of the pumps and major parts that make up this system. Additional topics that will be covered include operation, control, Emergency Shutdown Devices (ESD) considerations, and the health and safety aspects of a typical sea water lift and circulation system.

On the first day, participants will learn about the configuration and flow patterns used in seawater lift. The different types of pumps used from dry mounted to submersible will also be covered.

Participants will gain an understanding of the operation, instrumentation, control systems, and ESD connections involved in seawater lift systems, on the second day. The participants will learn about the importance of adhering to operational compliance, safety, environmental, and reliability issues faced in the day-to-day operational activities.
This course is mainly targeted to process technicians, process technologists, and maintenance personnel. The course can also be applicable to employees working with equipment and materials purchasing, equipment procurement, job planning, as well as immediate supervisors to the working technicians.
Participants should have some recent exposure to oil and gas facility terminology.
