    Project Management Fundamentals

Fundamental project management knowledge and skills are required to successfully manage all types of projects.  The practical application of standard project management methodology will be enhanced with a workshop style approach, the use of participant case studies for practical exercises, and a project simulation.  This course will follow the guidelines established by the Project Management Institute (PMI) ® and their Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) ®, 6th Edition.

The course will provide the student with the ability to apply project management best practices in initiating, planning, executing, and closing a project.  During the workshop sessions, participants will develop a project charter, perform a stakeholder analysis and use it in developing a communication plan, develop a work breakdown structure, and conduct a risk analysis, as well as create a risk register.  Additionally, participants will learn effective techniques for monitoring and controlling a project, as well as how to capture project lessons learned.
