Integrated competency development programs

All NExT courses are project-based, as we believe this is the optimal way to learn. Project-based training teaches individuals how to deal with real-life scenarios and solve genuine problems. In-house programs can even utilize your proprietary data sets to deliver real business benefits.

NExT's integrated competency development programs are designed to improve the competency of individuals to enhance organizational effectiveness. Training can be provided in specific technology areas or in cross-disciplinary skills to sharpen asset team performance.

An essential first step is auditing the existing skills within a team or, if appropriate, those existing company-wide through a comprehensive skills assessment. NExT experts work with an organization's technical managers, and training and human resources professionals to establish the competencies required for each specific job. The competency assessment process identifies skills gaps for individuals and for groups of individuals with the same job responsibilities.

This process facilitates the design of a customized training program that will enhance the competency of staff members to meet the demands of their current job or to prepare them for future assignments within the organization.

Integrated competency development programs combine instructor-led training, case studies that demonstrate practical skills, mentoring, and, in some cases, e-learning (computer- or Web-based learning). These programs are typically run in-house for a single client, and we encourage clients to allow us to customize programs to include their data sets. This can make the training more relevant for participants, as well as delivering the valuable additional benefit of setting the stage for solving a real well or reservoir problem. It is highly recommended that pre- and post-program competency assessments be conducted on the attendees.
