Geology

3d reservoir modeling workshop

Course Description

This workshop covers the principles of building a reservoir Static Model using Petrel. It starts with overview of reservoir modeling and then proceeds to building structural framework. Layering and gridding is the covered followed by populating the model with reservoir properties.

Volumetrics with uncertainties are covered along with basic geostatistics

Petrel is used in classroom with the public Gullfaks offshore Norway data set. 60 percent of course is practice work on building models

Audience

Geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, engineers who need to use Petrel for building static reservoir models in their jobs

Prerequisites

Basic training in use of Petrel
