CO2 Storage Numerical Simulation (CCS/CCUS Academy)

Level: Foundation | Type: Classroom | Discipline: New Energies Projects Scope Planning

This course covers the workflow, the best practices, and hands-on competence in CO2 storage numerical simulation and optimization for CCS/CCUS projects. This course aims to introduce fundamental theory, the workflow, and best practices on CO2 numerical simulation. Numerical simulation will be utilized to evaluate CO2 plume migration and trapping mechanisms and also optimize the development strategy of the CCS/CCUS projects. The course attendees will have a chance to use real CCS project datasets for hands-on exercises to be familiar with CO2 numerical simulation, analyze the simulation results and optimize the field development strategy of CCS/CCUS projects.

At the end of this course, the attendees should understand the workflow and best practices of CO2 storage simulation and develop adequate hands-on competence in conducting the actual projects with Petrel/Eclipse.
