This course will provide participants with the knowledge needed to understand and enhance their mechanical aptitude in the area of positive displacement pumps.
The purpose of this course will be to develop a working knowledge of the different types of positive displacement pumps, as well as the different procedures associated with operation and installation of positive displacement pumps. With the completion of this course the participants will be equipped with the basic knowledge required to install and repair these pumps.
Technicians are required to have a technical comprehension of pumps, an understanding of the different types and application or type of pump to use. The technicians that participate in this course will be better equipped to repair, maintain, install, and commission pumps and their related systems, while increasing the knowledge within their maintenance team. This, in turn, will promote the safe and efficient productivity of the systems. With further on-job training and experience the technicians will be able to attend more advanced training and therefore enhancing the maintenance team’s capabilities and knowledge.
This course is mainly targeted to mechanical technicians working in the field as an introduction or refresher. The course can also be applicable to employees working with equipment purchasing, procurement, storage, and job planning, as well as immediate supervisors to the working technicians.
Participants for this course should have completed some form of technical or mechanical awareness training.
