Utilities: Design and Operations

Level: Foundation | Type: Classroom | Discipline: Surface Facilities Engineering

Build an end-to-end understanding of plant utilities—from water systems (service, cooling, fresh, potable, de-mineralized, fire water) to steam/boilers, air (instrument/plant/service), nitrogen, fuel (oil/gas), electric power (normal/emergency, incl. UPS/EDG), flare/vent/drain, water treatment (produced, sewage, seawater), and storage/loading. Each module covers technology basics, design and layout, key specifications, reliability/operations, and safety—culminating in a field trip and final evaluation.
