    4D Seismic Processing with Omega

    During this course, the user will learn how to run 4D diagnostics on a time lapse dataset at different stages of seismic processing. The course also includes the steps required for designing a global matching operator and also a trace by trace matching operator. The improvement in the 4D response at the different stages is carefully analyzed with attribute maps and statistics.

    Day 1

    4D Training on a Time Lapse Dataset

    • Setup the project in Omega
    • Perform initial 4D diagnostics
    • Design a global matching operator
    • Run 4D diagnostics and evaluate the effect of the global matching operator on the data
    • Design a trace-by-trace matching operator
    • Run 4D diagnostics and evaluate the effect of the trace-by-trace matching operator on the data

    At the end of the session the user will be able to create an Omega project for the 4D workflow. They will be able to calculate and QC the degree of similarity between two vintage datasets according to the best industry standard. They will be able to design different types of matching operators to improve the 4D response for a better interpretation.

    An understanding of the concepts underlying 4D seismic data processing and challenges. Participants without any prior knowledge of Omega must have taken the Fundamentals of Omega class before enrolling for this class.
