    ADNOC Defensive & Desert Driving-ADSD (Heavy Vehicle) – Bus & Truck

    Course description

    • This two-day course is designed to provide learners with the actual and potential hazards associated with driving on blacktop roads as well as in the desert (off-road) in UAE. This will also equip learners with the necessary defensive driving skills and techniques to recognize hazards, understand the defense, and act on time in consideration of their safety and others around them.

    Objectives
    • Earn practical knowledge and techniques to avoid collisions and violations. 
    • Learn the importance of a positive attitude on driver and passenger safety. 
    • Learn how to handle difficult Driving Conditions, Distractions and Fatigue
    • Know ADNOC Onshore’s advice on choosing safe and responsible behaviors and habits.
    • Know ways to reduce Insurance Claims, Lost Time Work, and Vehicle Repairs by lowering the number of accidents
    • Recognize potential driving hazards and demonstrate appropriate driving.
    • Earn knowledge in procedures and guidance in driving within ADNOC Onshore Concession Areas

    • The course is designed for personnel intending to drive heavy vehicles on an oil and gas field within UAE.

    There are 6 modules covered in the two-day course. Wherein Day One will cover the theory part and Day Two will cover the Practical In-Vehicle session.

    As per ADCO_Corporate Procedure No. 10/3A Land Transportation Safety Manual Section:10

    • For Professional Drivers: 
      • Minimum age of 23 and a maximum of 60
      • Valid UAE or GCC Driver’s License for Heavy Goods Vehicle or Heavy Bus, the license shall be a minimum of two (2) years old.
      • Previous driving experience outside UAE for expatriates might be taken into consideration. Sufficient and clear evidence shall be available and must be presented to CHSE for approval. 
    • For Non-Professional Drivers: 
      • Minimum age of 19 and maximum 65 (ADNOC Onshore & Contractors).
      • Drivers under 23 shall attend a specially designed driver training course. 
      • Valid UAE or GCC Driver’s License for Heavy Goods Vehicle or Heavy Bus, the license shall be a minimum of two (2) years old.
      • Previous experience can be counted providing the driver submits proof of prior Driver's Licenses (original document only).
      • Over 65-year-old cases are subject to VP CHSE’s approval where there is an operational requirement. Driver must present Vision, Health, and Physical clearance from an approved medical facility. This is applicable to ADNOC Onshore and Contractor’s employees.
