Application of Borehole Images in Reservoir Characterization - integrating images with core and well logs to create reservoir static models

Level: Foundation | Type: Classroom | Discipline: Clastic Stratigraphy and Sedimentology

The borehole image logs are high resolution wireline and LWD tools which produce an in image of the borehole wall either using resistivity, acoustic or optical scanning measurements. Although this tool has been logged for many years, increased computer processing power and more advanced LWD measurements has brought this tool into a petrophysical workflow as well as a useful tool for geological interpretation. This course will introduce the participant to the tool measurements, outline how to interpret the image and explain how to introduce the results into a static model.
