    Course Summary

    • This H2S Training course helps fulfill the training requirements of ANSI Z390.1.
    • API Recommended Practice 49, and the OSHA General Duty clause. 
    Course Objective
    • Identify the hazards associated with hydrogen sulfide 
    • List the major properties of hydrogen sulfide 
    • Name common sources of hydrogen sulfide 
    • Discuss facility engineering controls 
    • Discuss safe workplace practices involving hydrogen sulfide 
    • Describe the importance of confined space entry procedures 
    • List H2S exposure limits and the PPE’s requirement for each limit 
    • Recognize symptoms of hydrogen sulfide exposure 
    • Recognize warning signals for hydrogen sulfide detection systems to be used 
    • Describe the correct use of monitoring equipment 
    • Rescue and first aid techniques for victims of hydrogen sulfide exposure 
    • Name the essential parts of a hydrogen sulfide contingency plan 
    • Explain the significance of wind direction indicators
