Nodal Analysis a predicting tool for the performance of the total producing system as a group of components including the reservoir fluid and rock, production completions, vertical flow strings, restrictions, multi-lateral branches, surface flow lines and integrated gathering networks. The main function of a system-wide analysis is to increase well rates in the most efficient approach. You’ll also explore the importance of the reservoir fluid properties, the inflow performance rate IPR and the vertical lift performance VLP to perform a complete system prediction using Nodal Analysis.
In the first part of this course you’ll be introduced to the concept of the applied theory of Nodal analysis. Then in the second part of the course you will explore PIPESIM production system analysis software that provides steady-state, multiphase flow simulation for oil and gas production systems. You'll use several PIPESIM modules for a wide range of analyses, including well modeling, nodal analysis, field planning, artificial lift optimization, pipeline design and equipment sizing. A major feature of PIPESIM software is the system integration and openness that allows you to develop a Total Production System Model. In the end you'll get a general understanding of how PIPESIM software is used to design and optimize total production systems from the reservoir to the final processing delivery point.

Throughout the duration of the course, the participants will be dealing with real case examples from the oil and gas fields of Oman via the use of PIPESIM. The exercises cover a wide range of topics including: (not limited to)
The course is intented for petrotechnical personnel with works associated to Production Engineering/Production Technology disciplines. Nevertheless, it can also be helpful for others in the Oil & Gas Industry to get the basic knowledge of Nodal Analysis and the use of the Steady State Multiphase Flow Simulation software of PIPESIM
