Petrel Workflow Editor and Uncertainty Analysis (RILS)

Level: Skill | Type: Remote Instructor Led Series | Discipline: Petrel

This is a Remote Instructor Led Series (RILS) training. The remote classroom delivery is a modality that takes advantage of the instructor led training content, while allowing the same content to be delivered remotely. All training sessions will be delivered online with no face-to-face classroom attendance.

The Petrel Workflow Editor and Uncertainty Analysis course empowers you with practical skills to automate workflows, streamline 3D modeling tasks and evaluate geological uncertainty for your field studies in the Petrel™ subsurface software.

In the first part of this learning experience, you explore the Workflow editor: through real-world challenges, you practice how to construct, parameterize, and run automated workflows for batch processing and unparalleled efficiency in your geological and geophysical operations.

The second part of this training focuses on the Uncertainty and optimization process. You learn to integrate Sensitivity Analysis and Uncertainty Analysis in your reservoir characterization studies, for informed and data-driven field development decisions. You gain hands-on experience on the investigation of the uncertainty related to fluid contacts depths, well logs, static model properties, structural horizon interpretations, surfaces and velocity models.

Note: The Petrel Workflow editor and Uncertainty analysis course is tailored for Geoscientists.

  • If you are exclusively interested in tasks automation with the Workflow editor, and not in the Uncertainty analysis process or Sensitivity analysis process, refer to the Petrel Workflow Editor course.
  • To learn more about Reservoir Engineering tasks in the Uncertainty and optimization process, such as Optimization (History matching) and Proxy modeling, refer to the Petrel Uncertainty Analysis and Optimization Fundamentals course.
  • The course duration can be extended with practical hands-on sessions driven by your own data and workflow ideas. Contact us for more information.

The Petrel Workflow Editor and Uncertainty Analysis - RILS course will be delivered over a total of twenty-five (25) Hours; i.e. in five (5) sessions lasting 5 Hours each.

Each participant will need the following for an optimal experience of the course:

  • Windows-based PC
  • USB headset
  • Internet access
  • Second monitor or tablet for the course manual(s)
  • Webcam
