    Tool Physics - High Technology Imaging and Logging Tools

    Who should attend?

    This is a 5-day course that covers all the advanced imaging logging tools. This course will be suitable for all experienced engineeris in all technical domains in the oil and gas industry. There have been major developments in data aquisition namely imaging of the formation circumferentially and radially. This course will provide a solid base to be up to date and understand the therory and applications of this technology.

      • Advances in Neutron Logging
      • Reservoir Monitoring using C/O tools
      • PULSAR - The new PNL tool with advanced spectroscopy analysis.
    • Borehole imaging for geological modeling, structural and stratigraphic features, fracture evaluations using
      • Micro-resistivities
      • Ultra sonic imaging
    • Cross-Well Electromagnetic Imaging
    • Scanner Family of radial and circumferential imaging. This covers:
      • Dielectric Scanner logging
      • NMR Scanner Imaging
      • Resistivity scanner to give Rv and Rh
      • Acoustic Scanner - Radial and circumferential acpustic measurements
      • Lithoscanner - Advanced lithology evaluations in complex formations and computing Total Organic Carbon (TOC)

        • Tool Hardware- application in low permeability zones using straddle packers.

      • Optical Spectroscopy to give Hydrocarbon composition
      • Pressure measurements and sampling behind casing
      • SATURN-4 - NEW TECHNOLOGY WFT TOOL

    Workshop on pressure gradients

    Day 2
    • Standard OH Logging Tools: Neutron, Density and resistivities
    • LWD Tools
      • Standard LWD tools
      • Sourceless logging to obtain density, Pe, neutron porosity
      • Pressure measurements while drilling
    • Workshop on OH Interpretations
    Day 3
    • Neutron Logging:
    • Nuclear Physics of Neutron Interaction with the formation 
    • Advances in Neutron Logging using Pulsed Neutron Generator (PNG)
    • Reservoir Monitoring using Pulsed Neitron Logging for capture (sigma) and inelastic modes C/O 
    • PULSAR - The new PNL tool with advanced spectroscopy analysis.
    • Digital Density based on foeard modeling (Improved density measurements in poor boreholes).
    • Workshop on C/O interpretations
      Day 4
      • Borehole imaging for geological modeling, structural and stratigraphic features, fracture evaluations using

        • Workshop on resistivity behind casing
