    Eclipse Compositional Simulation

When fluid sample consists of two or more hydrocarbons, and those hydrocarbons exhibit distinctly different phase and composition changes relative to temperature and pressure, more complex definitions of fluid behavior are required for reservoir simulation and predictions of recovery.

Compositional simulation is useful when an equation of state is required to describe reservoir fluid phase behavior. Some applications include the modeling of a miscible flood scheme and compositional changes associated with depth. Similarly, a compositional model is the right choice to accurately capture the complex physics such as condensate dropout in the reservoir.

Knowledge of compositional behavior is also required for accurate planning and designing of surface production facilities.
