This is a Remote Instructor Led Series (RILS) training. The remote classroom delivery is a modality that takes advantage of the instructor led training content, while allowing the same content to be delivered remotely. All training sessions will be delivered online with no face-to-face classroom attendance.
This Awareness level course is highly recommended.
The Petrel Fundamentals learning experience equips you with a foundational understanding of the Petrel™ subsurface software, including how to get started, set up a project, apply processes, and plot your results in an integrated and collaborative approach. You will learn to import and visualize data, create maps/surfaces, generate simple 3D models/grids and perform basic quality checks.
The exercises and challenges provide hands-on experience that allow you to effectively practice as you learn and retain the knowledge.
SLB recommends that you complete the Petrel Fundamentals course, before joining more domain-specialized trainings such as Petrel Geological Interpretation, Petrel Geophysical Interpretation, Petrel Structural Modeling: Structural Framework Workflows, Petrel Structural Modeling: Corner Point Gridding Workflow, Petrel Property Modeling, Petrel Well Design.
The course will be delivered over a total of twenty (20) Hours; i.e. in five (5) sessions lasting four (4) Hours each.
Each participant will need the following for an optimal experience of the course:
Customize your own learning journey and track your progress when you start using a defined learning path.
In just few simple steps, you can customize your own learning journey in the discipline of your interest, based on your immediate, intermediate and transitional goals. Once done, you can save it in NExTpert-the digital learning ecosystem-and track your progress.
ExploreDevelopment and Exploration Geologists, Geophysicists, Geochemists, Geoscientists, Petroleum Engineers, Managers, and Technical IT personnel with no prior experience with Petrel.
General knowledge of Geoscience and basic computing skills are required.
The Petrel Fundamentals course is highly recommended for any participant with no prior experience in Petrel, prior to any higher-level courses such as Petrel Geological Interpretation, Petrel Geophysical Interpretation, Petrel Structural Modeling: Structural Framework Workflows, Petrel Structural Modeling: Corner Point Gridding Workflow, Petrel Property Modeling, Petrel Well Design.
