      • Understand why crude (effluent) is processed and what the constraints, associated with this effluent, are.
      • Explain the functions of a Separator
      • Have a basic knowledge of the process involved with Separators.
      • Know the stages of separation  and have a basic understanding of how separation occurs during these stages
      • Describe and identify internals of a Separator and understand their function.
      • Have an understanding of the different types of Separators and when they are used.
      • Give the generic start up procedure for a Separator.
      • Understand the three phases of Matter.
      • Understand why crude (effluent) is processed and what the constraints, associated with this effluent, are.
