    Petrel Geophysical Interpretation

The Petrel Geophysical Interpretation course provides a detailed hands-on learning experience on the fundamental workflows inherent to the geophysics domain and their application in Petrel:

    • Seismic data loading, visualization and QC
    • Seismic data optimization and mis-tie analysis
    • Introduction to the Seismic Well Tie process
    • Faults and horizons interpretation
    • Seismic attributes and techniques for specific geological environments: Channel, Faulted and Salt environments
    • Mapping and Domain conversion.

Day 1: Modules 1, 2 & 3During Day 1, you review the process for setting up a new Seismic interpretation project and loading seismic data accurately. You also learn how to visualize, QC and optimize the data imported and run Mis-tie analysis. Finally, you explore the fundamentals of the Seismic Well Tie workflow .

    • Project setup
    • Seismic data import, visualization and QC
    • Data optimization and Mis-tie analysis
    • Introduction to Seismic Well Tie

    Day 2: Modules 4, 5 & 6

Day 2 starts with an overview of the Petrel tools and features for an optimal Seismic interpretation process. Then, the learning experience focuses on the techniques and best practices applied to interpret and QC faults and horizons.

    • Tools for interpretation
    • Fault interpretation and QC
    • Horizon interpretation and QC

Day 3: Modules 7 & 8On Day 3, the participants explore the concept of seismic attributes: with practical challenges, they apply  basic and advanced techniques specifically adapted to three (3) different geological environments: Channels, Faults and Salt environments. They also learn about Mapping horizon interpretations, basic Velocity modeling and Domain conversion in Petrel.

    • Attributes and Techniques for specific geological environments
    • Mapping and depth conversion
