Applied Core Analysis - Routine and SCAL - How to Interpret Core Data - RILS

This is the remote delivered version on Applied Core Analysis - Routine and SCAL - How to Interpret and Use Core Data. This course can be delivered in either public, closed formats or customized to be "fit for purpose".  This course is designed to be delivered using either 10 sessions that are 4 hours in duration or 5 sessions that are 6 hours in duration depending on the needs of the client.

Applied Core Analysis focuses on practical methods that provide participants with an improved understanding of rock, pore and petrophysical properties as they apply to the interpretation of reservoirs.  The course covers  rock based petrophysics, including routine core analysis methods and special core analysis techniques.

The course focuses on the factors that control porosity, permeability, fluids, electrical properties, capillary pressure, and introduces the concepts of wettability and relative permeability data analysis.

Participants learn by completing interactive exercises, workshops and if time permits look a some key references.  Participants have the chance to learn how to interpret routine and special core analysis and about the sources of error and example correlations of a log and core data set, resulting in a petrophysical rock type based saturation-height model.

The intended audience of this course includes geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, production engineers, and petrophysicists.  Participants should have an awareness level of knowledge on porosity, permeability. fluid saturation, petroleum geology and capillary pressure.
