    Bow Tie Development

    Description

    • This course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge and tools to understand the basics and principles of bow tie development within the context of the HSSE & SP risk management process, including the risk assessment process, hazard identification, barrier thinking, bow tie development, ALARP demonstration, and the implementation of the effective major accident hazard program.
    Objective
    • By the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to:
    • Present the hazard release scenarios together with the barriers, controls and threats in an easily understood way
    • Be able to identify and implement controls and recovery measures for hazards in the RAM5 and Red area of the RAM by developing a specific Bow Tie for the risk
    • Be able to identify HSSE-critical equipment
    • Be able to explain why the procedures to operate HSSE-critical equipment within its operational limits must be adequate
    • Be able to explain why the procedures to inspect and maintain the technical integrity of HSSE-critical equipment must be adequate
    • Be able to identify HSSE-critical activities
    • Meet the tolerability criteria including meeting laws and regulations, company standards, and the HSSE premises for projects
    • Identify the required documentation for the ALARP demonstration
