    Confined Space Rescue

    Course description

    • Develops the relevant knowledge and skills to carry out a Rescue from a Confined Space, whilst adhering to relevant legislative guidelines and Safe Systems of Work. Learners will also be instructed and assessed in the use of appropriate PPE and equipment Safety procedures for entry into, and working within confined Space

    Objectives
    • Define the aim and objectives of the Confined Space Awareness / Entry training
    • Ensures that personnel is prepared to enter into Confined Spaces and is aware of the essential legislation/best working practices and safety requirements for Confined Spaces.

    • Introduction.
    • Applicable regional legislation and guidelines for emergency arrangement.
    • Hazards associated with Confined spaces.
    • Common causes of confined space emergencies.
    • Safe Systems of work for confined spaces (incl. PTW where applicable).
    • Emergency response communication.
    • Break.
    • Roles and Responsibilities for emergency arrangements.
    • Emergency Rescue Plans.
    • Rescuer safety.
    • Fire safety.
    • Rescue and resuscitation equipment.
    • SCBA equipment and how to don and doff.

    • Confined space rescue techniques.
    • Written Assessment.
    • Break.
    • Creation of a scenario-based rescue plan.
    • Pre-use emergency equipment checks.
    • Donning and use of full SCBA set.
    • Execution of a scenario-based rescue plan using appropriate rescue techniques.
    • Communication using appropriate methods.
    • Use of emergency rescue equipment.
    • Use of resuscitation equipment.
    • Assessment of Practical demonstration.
    • Assessment result declaration and certificate distribution to successful learners.

    • This course is designed for personnel across the energy sector with existing knowledge and understanding of Confined Spaces and the necessary skills for confined space entry who are required to gain the knowledge and skills to conduct rescue from a Confined Space.
