    Electrical Safety Rules

    Course Objective

    • This course describes the hazards of electrical work and basic approaches to working safely. You will learn skills to help you recognize, evaluate, and control electrical hazards. This information will prepare you for additional safety training such as hands-on exercises and more detailed reviews of regulations for electrical work.
    The following points shall be discussed in the course:
    • Identify the main hazards of working with electricity.
    • Electrical shock causes.
    • The effects of low and high voltage on the body.
    • Understand the Electrical current.
    • The dangers of Arc Blast.
    • Electrical burns.
    • Firefighting Procedures.
    • Evaluate Electrical Risks in the workplace.
    • Understand how to control electrical hazards.
    • Overhead powerline hazards.
    • Understand grounding and Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters.
    • Overload hazards.
    • Identify Lock Out and Tag Out Circuits and Equipment. 
    • Distinguish between Isolation & Insulation.
    • Working on Live Circuits.
    • Electrical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and identify defects.
