    This course aims to teach participants the fundamentals of hydrocarbon properties, along with their phase behaviors and practical applications in the production systems.  Participants will learn about the technical fundamentals and property correlations, as well as how to apply phase behavior and thermodynamics in order to solve real life problems.   

    Specific topics that will be covered during this course will include the components of petroleum, the construction of phase envelopes, the plus fraction concept, and the classification and identification of fluid types.  The calculation of the viscosity of each fluid type, interface and surface tension, lab and field tests, and a simulation of transport properties of petroleum fluids will also be discuss
