Handling of Hazardous Materials & Storage

    Course Summary:

    • This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the safe handling, storage, and management of hazardous materials in the workplace. It covers regulatory requirements, risk identification, hazard communication, labeling systems, proper storage practices, emergency response procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The training is designed to help ensure compliance with safety standards and reduce the risk of incidents involving hazardous substances across industrial and operational settings.
    Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Identify various types of hazardous materials and understand their associated risks.
    • Interpret safety data sheets (SDS), hazard labels, and classification systems (e.g., GHS).
    • Apply proper procedures for the safe handling, transport, and use of hazardous substances.
    • Demonstrate correct storage practices to minimize chemical interactions and environmental hazards.
    • Implement effective spill response, containment, and emergency measures.
    • Comply with local and international regulations governing hazardous materials management.
    • Utilize appropriate PPE and engineering controls to reduce exposure risks.
    • Promote a culture of safety and awareness within their operational environment.
    Activities
    • Classroom Sessions: Engaging in discussions, group activities, and interactive workshops.
    • Case Studies & Workplace Scenarios: Exploring real-world examples and practical applications.
    • Practical Application: Hands-on experience with all relevant techniques.
