    Introduction to Information Management and Data Governance in E&P Industry (RILS)

    This course introduces theprinciples of Information Management applied to the Petroleum Industry. Usingclass lectures and practical activities, participants will gain the opportunityto realize the business value of data management and its impact through theOilfield Life cycle.

    The course covers foundationconcepts such as standard data types, data life cycle, quality, security, andprovides an understanding of information management in different contexts suchas the corporate, project and operational environments, their organization andassociated data management processes.

    Participants will also gain theopportunity to learn about data governance principles and its application inthe Exploration and Production business.


    • Defining the key underlyingterms and the relationship of data handling to value based management
    • Describe the general principlesand concepts of Information Management
