    • The ISO 55001 Asset Management Lead Auditor Training is a comprehensive five-day program designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively lead and conduct audits of Asset Management Systems in accordance with the ISO 55001 standard. This course combines theoretical insights with practical exercises to enable participants to understand the principles of asset management, audit techniques, and the auditing process. Led by experienced industry professionals, this course provides a robust foundation for individuals seeking to become proficient ISO 55001 lead auditors.
    • ISO 55001 specifies the requirements for an asset management system (AMS). An AMS is a set of processes and procedures that an organization uses to manage its assets. The AMS should be aligned with the organization's overall business objectives and should be based on the principles of risk management, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement.

    Objectives
    • Upon the completion of the course, the participant will be able to:
    • Develop a deep understanding of the ISO 55001 standard and its relevance to asset management.
    • Understand The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle as well as the requirements of ISO 19011-2018.
    • Acquire the skills necessary to plan, conduct, report, and follow up on audits of Asset Management Systems.
    • Gain expertise in assessing the conformity and effectiveness of Asset Management Systems against ISO 55001 requirements.
    • Learn how to manage audit teams, address conflicts, and facilitate communication during audits.
    • Understand risk management practices and their integration into Asset Management Systems.
    • Enhance problem-solving skills by engaging in real-world audit scenarios and case studies.
    • Comprehend the principles of continuous improvement and their application in asset management.
    Assessment and Accreditation procedure:
    • The examination will comprise pre and post-assessments, spanning three hours, encompassing multiple-choice questions, essay writing, and a case study.
    • Following completion, the tutor will evaluate attendees’ responses, which will subsequently be reviewed for accuracy by a reviewer.
    • Upon successful completion, certification will be awarded to all attendees who meet the required criteria.
    • The Assessment will be online through Microsoft Forms, and individuals have the option to use their personal laptops or smartphones to participate in the exam.
    • CAMA assessment is not part of the course.

    ·         Fundamentals of asset management and its benefits

    ·         Chapter 2 - Accreditation and Certification Process.

    ·         Introduction to auditing principles and terminology

    ·         Roles and responsibilities of a lead auditor

    ·         Audit planning and preparation techniques

    ·         purpose of auditing and how it can be used to improve the performance of an organization.

    o   Exercise No 2 Auditing Terminology.

    o   Workshop 1- “Plan”- Auditing Plan Context and Planning

    o   Workshop 2- “Do”- Support and Operation

    ·           Summary of day 1, allocation of homework and close of the day.

    ·         Recap of day 1 and discussions on homework

    o   Workshop 3 – Auditing – “Check & ACT “Part of PDCA Cycle.

    ·         The principles of asset management according to ISO 55001.

    ·         Alignment of asset management with organizational objectives.

    ·         Risk management in asset management systems.

    ·         Identification and classification of assets.

    ·         Asset management strategies that can be used.

    ·         Defining asset life cycle stages and their significance.

    ·         Audit planning and preparation

    ·         Developing an audit program and checklist

    ·         Conducting opening meetings and establishing an audit charter.

    o   Workshop 4. Planning for Stage 1 Audit

    o   Workshop 5-Conducting Stage 1 Audit

    o   Workshop 6-Planning for Stage 2 audit

    o   Workshop 7. Auditor Competence

    o   Workshop 8. Identification & reporting of non-conformities

    ·         Summary of day 2, issue of specimen paper, allocation of homework (including section 1 of specimen paper), and close of the day.

    ·         Recap of day 2, including Homework, Specimen paper section 1 and feedback

    o   Workshop 8. Identification & reporting of non-conformities (Contd/-)

    ·         Non-conformity and corrective actions.

    o   Exercise 3-Review of Corrective Actions

    o   Workshop 9-Audit plan matrix

    ·         Conducting opening meetings and establishing an audit charter.

    o   Exercise 4. Communication

    ·         Collecting audit evidence, sampling techniques, and conducting interviews.

    ·         Documenting findings and non-conformities.

    ·         Audit reporting and communication.

    ·         Developing an audit program and checklist

    o   Workshop 10-Audit Trail Identification

    o   Workshop 11- Developing checklist for a Process audit.

    ·         Summary of day 3, allocation of homework (including section 4 of specimen paper) and close of the day

    ·         Summary of day 3 including feedback from section 4 of the specimen paper.

    o   Workshop 12-Conducting Opening Meeting

    o   Workshop 13-Part 1- Preparation for auditing Top Management

    o   Workshop 13- Part 2- Auditing Top Management   (Role Play)

    ·         Advanced audit techniques and methodologies

    ·         Verifying compliance with ISO 55001 requirements

    ·         Assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of Asset Management Systems

    ·         Evaluating risk management practices and strategies.

    ·         Managing conflicts and challenges during audits.

    ·         Maintaining audit ethics and maintaining information security in the auditing process.

    o   Workshop 14 Auditing of an operational site

    o   Discussions on specimen paper sections 2 & 3

    o   Workshop 15-Part 1 Preparation for Process Audits

    o   Workshop 15-Part 2 Perform Stage 2 process Audits (Role play-Interviews)

    ·         Summary of all proceedings so far, parking lot questions and answer session, and close of the day

    ·         Recap of the entire proceedings so far

    ·         Review of PARKING LOT questions

    o   Workshop 16-Role Play-Observing an Acceptable Audit- Trainer Role Play Overview of certification processes and requirements.

    o       Workshop 17-Preparation for Closing Meeting

    o   Workshop 18-Conduct Closing Meeting - Roleplay
