Develop measurable skills and capabilities
This course will address cultural issues that face managers of employees who must work together, but have different styles and values. Participants will learn what global teams need from their leaders and how to achieve those needs. This course will include group activities, exercises, and case studies designed to give participants practice and help build their ability to manage global teams.
In this two-day class, leaders will learn the importance of developing trust, which is vital to maximizing employee productivity and cooperation. This class will cover generational as well as cultural issues that face managers of employees who have different styles and values.
Dimensions of Culture
The participants will be able to understand the basic elements of culture, identify characteristics of culturally diverse work teams, and distinguish management and leadership styles that vary among cultures. They will learn how to develop team cultural adaptability and strategies to enhance team performance and how to handle conflict that arises from cultural diversity in a work team.
Day 2Managing and Communicating with Teams Across Cultural Boundaries
The participants will be able to identify cultural style differences as it affects face-to-face, email, video conferencing, phone, and social media, as well as, recognize challenges associated with English as a second language. They will also associate knowledge learned in a case study on managing teams across global boundaries.
Supervisors, Managers, Project Managers, and Team Leads involved in dealing with multi-cultural teams operating across the globe.
