Omega Administration

At the end of this class students will be able to operate the Omega Desktop at a non-geophysical level in order to submit and manage jobs.   In this context an understanding of the services supporting the jobs will be developed that will enable students to optimize Omega operations at their location and diagnose user and system problems.

Omega overview (1 hour)

Omega Infrastructure overview and system preparation lab (4 hours

License server and lab (1 hour)

Postgres installation and lab (1 hour)

 

Day 2

Omega installation on Linux lab (4 hours)

RDM configuration lab (1 hour)

Postgres barman backup and PGadmin (2 hours)

 

Day 3    

OCM installation lab (1 hour)

OCM configuration and lab (2 hours)

Omega acceptance tests (2 hours)

Daily Omega admin and lab (2 hours)

 

Day 4

Omega troubleshooting (2 hours)

Omega installation on Windows lab (2 hours)

Basic Omega user training (2 hours)


System administration personnel wishing to manage an Omega installation.

Students should be experienced with the Linux operating system and be able to run command line functions.
