    Performance Management

    Performance Management is a course that covers all the necessary skills needed to analyze, track and management the performance of business units and entire organizations. The first day goes into the basics of performance management, goal development, business modeling, benchmarking, and compliance/QA efforts.

    Then on the second day the participants learn how to create and use KPMs, KPIs, KSFs, CSFs.

    On the third day the participants will learn about advanced topics in performance management including integrating risk management and incorporating Value and Benefits Management approaches. All the subjects are tied together at the end of the course to help participants apply these skills in today’s business environment.

    Day 1

    Ojectives

    • Develop the ability to conduct strategy Mapping and Business Modeling.
    • Understand how the 5 Guiding Principles and goal development help with performance management.
    • Learn about benchmarking and how it impacts performance management.
    • Be able to utilize the Value Dynamics Framework.
    • Learn how to design compliance, QA and performance management systems.

    The participants will be able to identify the basic elements of performance management infrastructure including goal development, business modeling, benchmarking, and compliance/QA efforts. In addition, they will learn how these elements work together to help improve the measurement, tracking and ultimately the performance of the firm.

    Day 2

    Objectives

    • Learn about the basics of balanced scorecards.
    • Understand how KPMs/KPIs are created and used.
    • Know how Key and Critical Success Factors (KSFs/CSFs) factor into balanced scorecards.
    • Learn about the Four Perspectives of the balanced scorecard.
    • Be able to understand best practices in scorecard implementation.

    The participants will learn how to create and use KPMs, KPIs, KSFs, CSFs particularly in an organizational balanced scorecard to track and manage unit or organizational performance. Also, the participants will get experience with developing and implementing best practice tracking methods to improve the outcomes of firm activities.

    Day 3

    Objectives

    • Know how benchmarking and performance management work together.
    • Learn about Value Management (VM) and Benefits Management (BM)approaches to measuring performance.
    • Know about how effective risk management helps with performance management.
    • Understand how performance management and the analysis of data leads to better process improvement.

    The participants will learn about advanced topics in performance management including integrating risk management and incorporating Value and Benefits Management approaches. Then, the class participants will incorporate various more sophisticated elements into their performance management plan including scenario planning and statistical analysis of benchmarks and outcomes.

    This course is best for managers or leaders who will be asked by their organization to make or be involved in making decisions.

    This course on Performance Management requires ability to read and write English as well as good English oral communication abilities.

    Participants will be expected to read at approximately the 9th grade level in order to utilize course materials to develop their skills in this area.
