Develop measurable skills and capabilities
This course will provide the participants with the knowledge necessary to understand and enhance their mechanical aptitude of positive displacement compressors.
The purpose of this course will be for participants to develop a working knowledge of various types of positive displacement compressors. This will include the various types of compressors and the different procedures associated with operation and installation. With the completion of this course the participants will be equipped with the introductory knowledge required to assist in the installation and repair of compressors and their related systems.
Technicians will be required to have a technical understanding of the positive displacement compressors. The technicians that participate in this course will be better equipped to repair and maintain, install, and commission compressors and their associated systems within a working environment. Participants will also be able to increase the knowledge within their maintenance team, thereby increasing the safe and efficient productivity of the mechanical systems. With further on-job training and experience the technician will be able to attend more advanced training and therefore enhance their maintenance team’s capabilities and knowledge.
Identification
The first day will teach participants how to identify the different components and construction of positive displacement compressors. How to identify hazards and the safe working practices will be covered. The day will end with discussions of the different compressor applications and operations.
Day 2Maintenance and Diagnostics
Day two will cover the maintenance and diagnostics of the positive displacement compressors. Participants will learn the repair and troubleshooting procedures, along with replacement considerations. The commission, installation, and maintenance procedures will also be covered.
This course is mainly targeted to mechanical technicians working in the field as an introduction or refresher. The course can also be applicable to employees working with equipment purchasing, procurement, storage, and job planning, as well as immediate supervisors to the working technicians.
The completion of Positive Displacement Pumps is not required but recommended as the theory of pumps is related to compressors.
