    Principles of Dealing with Hazards

    Course Objective

    • This course aims to highlight the importance of the Principles of Dealing with Hazards. The main objective of the course is to identify many hazards that are found in the workplace, by category. Also, candidates will be able to recognize and determine a variety of ways to prevent and minimize risks and injuries in each category.

    Pass Requirements
    • Attendance, End-course short Assessment

    • Identify the common hazards.
    • Discuss the possible common hazards.
    • Determine a variety of common hazards that occur commonly in the workplace. 
    • Define the first hazard (Violence or aggressive violence), and the most common work environment that involves a lot of Violence or aggressive violence behavior. 
    • Define the main symptoms that resulted from violent acting.
    • Reveal the procedures & control measures to stop Violence at the workplace. 
    • Identify the definition, examples, symptoms, and procedures to stop bullying. 
    • Define chemicals & harmful substances hazards and discuss how to distinguish between different examples of the harmful substances.
    • Define ways and procedures to minimize the hazards related to using or dealing with chemicals & harmful substances.
    • Identify the hazards that are associated with working on computers.
    • Define hazards that are related to electricity and what are the main symptoms. Also, determine ways and control procedures to prevent injuries that result from electricity.
    • Identify fire & related hazards, and what can cause fires.
    • Discuss the control measures & procedures to prevent fires. 
    • Identify and discuss examples of high places, and the related hazards. Reveal safe action & procedures in situations of high places. 
    • Define cleaning and organizing operations and their positive and negative effects.
    • Reveal the importance of lighting and its positive and negative effects on workers and the workplace.
    • Discuss regarding load and manual transfer, their related hazards & injuries. 
    • Reveal the impact of noise, discuss the main causes of hearing damage & ways to minimize noise. 
    • Identify slipping & tripping hazards and discuss ways and procedures to prevent slipping. 
    • Define stress and the main causes and symptoms, and discuss ways to prevent stress. 
    • Reveal hazards that are associated with low & high temperatures. Discuss the main actions to prevent both high and low temperatures.
