Production analysis requires handling and conditioning large volumes of multiple source, multiple frequency data, identifying and synchronizing events and assigning the appropriate production rate to each event. These critical steps enable production engineers to make efficient interpretation and analysis of the data and to opti-mize well productivity using advanced methodologies.
Introduction to Production Fundamentals – In day one, the course will cover the key production mechanisms and concepts of unconventional system and how they differ from conventional production, the modeling of the production system with numerical reservoir simulation will be introduced, with emphasis on state-of-art fracture simulation technology.
Day 2Production Modeling and Production Enhancement – In day two, discussion will continue on production modeling, with latest analytical method for production engineering workflows. Concept of time-lapse nodal analysis will be introduced to extend the traditional nodal analysis workflow to unconventional system.
Then the course will cover production analysis in the context of production enhancement. First the course re-view various reservoir monitoring and control technologies associated with production data sources including downhole gauges, distributed temperature sensing (DTS) devices and flow meters. Also, review data quality assurance and quality check procedures. Then various data analysis techniques will be introduced, including data mining, rapid screening methods, decline curve analysis, dynamic material balance.
Day 3Production Data Interpretation and Analysis – In day three, the course will review the principles of data interpretation, rate transient analysis, (RTA), pressure transient analysis (PTA), multiwell upscaled simulation; Production surveillance and reservoir management, honoring the reservoir Physics; On-time diagnostics and interpretation of multi-well pressures and rates from reservoirs with production wells; Real-time data acquisition, filtering, automated data preparation (shut-in/fall-off event identification), plotting, and reporting; Multi-well production history-matching and forward modeling;Productivity trends, sensitivities and Key Perfor-mance Indicators (KPIs).
In the afternoon, participants will be exposed to SIS Petrel PI software tutorial, with examples from unconventional resources.
This course is designed for the practicing reservoir, production and facilities engineers and engineering and asset managers.
This course is designed to implement a comprehensive learning module of production data interpretation and analysis including the principles of production fundamentals, technologies and workflows with applications and field examples for unconventional recourses.
