Develop measurable skills and capabilities
This five day course covers well performance and productivity. Specific topics are covered including well inflow and outflow performance, NODAL analysis, well surveillance, and problem diagnostics. Participants will also learn about productivity enhancement by stimulation, work over, sand management, corrosion control, and artificial lift.
This course is delivered in Remote Instructor Led Series for 5 days at 6 hours per day, including lectures and numerous exercises to enforce Participants engagement.
Well Performance and Productivity
On the first day, participants will learn about well performance and productivity. Reservoir types and performance, as well as perforating and productivity will also be discussed. Participants will learn about well inflow and outflow performance and the total well (NODAL) system analysis.
Well Surveillance and Problem Well Identification
Day two will focus well surveillance and problem well identification. Participants will learn about production logging applications and techniques, electric and slickline surveys, and the sources and causes of productivity impairment at different stages of well drilling. Sand production, control, and productivity effects along with water production, control, and productivity effects will also be covered.
Productivity Enhancement
On this day, participants will learn about the different types of productivity enhancements. This will include well intervention, matrix stimulation, and hydraulic fracturing. Candidate selection and stimulation exercises will be done in small groups on this day.
Productivity Enhancement (cont.) and Well Controls
Day four will focus on the continued discussion of productivity enhancements as well as well controls. Once the presentations and discussion from the candidate selection exercise is completed, the course will move onto discuss tubing techniques, workover (Rig), sand management, corrosion monitoring and control, and the control of paraffins, asphaltenes, and hydrates. The day will end with scale deposition, control, and removal.
Artificial Lift and Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP)
The last day will cover productivity enhancement through artificial lift. Electrical submersible pumps (ESP) and other systems will also be discussed. After doing exercises on ESP systems, participants will take their final exam.
Reservoir and production engineers plus those involved in well performance evaluation and modeling.
General knowledge of Oil and Gas Production, basics of Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, Well Construction and Well Intervention.
